Mamuschka x Lareka: A unique collaboration in Argentina

In 2024, Lareka delivered a packaging machine to iconic Argentinian chocolate brand Mamuschka. This collaboration marks not only our first installation on Argentine soil, but also a project full of technical and creative highlights.

Matryoshka in a modern guise

One of the striking applications in this project was the packaging of a Mamuschka bar, which is first sealed in a flow pack and then fitted with a resealable cardboard wrapper using our BTB25 machine. This second layer is not just extra packaging: it is fully integrated into the design of Mamuschka's recognisable Matryoshka character, without compromising the brand identity. The result is a luxurious and practical packaging concept that perfectly matches the brand experience while adding convenience for the consumer.

Aluminium with allure

Besides the flowpacked variant, Mamuschka also works with a two-layer folded packaging using pure aluminium as the inner layer. Especially in countries like Argentina and the UK, this material is of interest because of its simplicity in waste separation. It is fully recyclable, unlike combinations of paper and aluminium. However, pure aluminium has unique folding and processing properties that require extra precision. Thanks to precise coordination between customer and machine, we managed to process this material reliably while maintaining a sleek and high-quality appearance of the packaging.

Slim profile, smart solution

Another model of Mamuschka's chocolate bar has an unusually thin profile, making the packaging process extra challenging. Thanks to precise adjustment and customised engineering, we managed to package these bars successfully. The machine not only achieves product protection, but also maintains the speed and flexibility Mamuschka needs for their wide range of products.

This project marked the first delivery to Argentina, a journey that involved challenges in terms of, documentation, local regulations and much more. Thanks to good communication and strong cooperation with Mamuschka's team, we completed these steps. And more importantly, built a sustainable partnership that opened the door to further growth in Latin America.
